Tagum City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (TCCCII) successfully held its 10th General Membership Meeting (GMM) on Friday afternoon of November 18, 2022, at Miko’s Brew Tagum, Apokon, Tagum City.
Keynote speakers from the City Treasurer's Office and the Tagum Water District (TWD) graced the conference.
Office of the City Treasurer’s Acting Assistant Treasurer, Nimfa G. Rabara, CPA, discussed on the Business Tax Amnesty Ordinance of the City of Tagum and the Real Property Tax Amnesty Ordinance of 2022.
Rabara emphasized that there will be no interest, penalties, or surcharges, and one can avail of the Business Tax Amnesty until March 31 and of the Real Property Tax Amnesty until June 30, next year, respectively.
"Puwede magbayad og full or installment basis with 25% down payment ug ang mobayad sa balanse hangtod December 31, 2023," she said.
Meanwhile, Tagum Water District, represented by Engr. Krist Andrew Almario, ME-CE, RMP, Acting Division Manager of the Planning Division and Officer-in-charge of the Non-Revenue Water Management Division, and Atelano A. Leduna, the Corporate Planning Analyst A of the Management Information Services Division, presented the updates, plans and programs of TWD to the Chamber and its concessioners.
They delved on their Joint Venture (JV) for the Bulk Water Supply Project, which was intended to fulfill Tagum City's water supply needs while minimizing the extraction of groundwater and the usage of deep wells, both of which have detrimental environmental effects.
Further, TWD revealed its planned Septage Treatment Facility in Barangay New Balamban that will house a septage treatment plant, administrative building, motorpool, and laboratory building.
The Water District speakers also reminded its concessionaires to report directly to them the water interruptions, water discolorations, and illegal water connections in their area so they can easily record, analyze, and address the problems.
The general membership meeting commenced around five in the afternoon.
